Technology has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up having a cell phone, computer, TV, stereo, etc. I am not a computer whiz by any means but if I try hard enough I can figure out most problems. Technology is a part of my everyday life. I use my computer daily, listen to my Ipod at the gym, and watch TV.

I hope this class helps me learn more about computers. I also hope it gives me some ideas that I can use later when I become a teacher. I'm sure there are many shortcuts and things I don't know about so hopefully this will help me learn new things.

I am 19 years old and a sophomore at FSU. I am in a sorority. I just got a new puppy whose name is Bismark and I think he is the most adorable thing in the world. I have a boyfriend and great friends.

Chapter 1 opened up my eyes on the importance of technology, specifically computers, in the educations system. I did not realize how many different people besides students and teachers used computers in the classroom. Parents, principals, media specialists, secretaries, technology coordinators are some of the other people in the system that use computers to do their daily work as well. It really showed me how much technology is depended upon and how necessary it is in schools.

I don't think I necessarily learned any new skills but the XP test definitely refreshed my memory on Windows XP. I switched to Mac a year ago so I have not been using windows and this definitely helped me remember what to do on Windows. The two programs are different but it has been fun learning how to use both.

My future career is to be a high school teacher. I would like to teach English, as it is my strong point. I want to teach somewhere in Florida, most likely the Orlando area. I'm excited to teach students and share my experiences with them.
